TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Adult, Teens, Children & Family Pottery Classes – Terms & Conditions
Welcome to Atacama Clay Studio! We are excited to share the joy of pottery with you and your family. To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone, please review the following terms:

Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellations made more than 7 days before the class start date will receive a full refund, minus a 10% processing fee.

  • Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds, credits, or transfers once the class has begun, even in the case of emergencies or illness.

  • If a class is canceled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances (e.g., pandemic-related issues), you will receive a credit for future classes.

  • By signing up, you agree to these terms and will not dispute charges with your credit card company or PayPal.

Group Participation

At Atacama Clay Studio, we value creating a supportive, welcoming community where everyone can explore pottery through wheel throwing, hand-building, glazing, and more. Participation is voluntary, and we ask everyone to be respectful and responsible during activities.

Voluntary Participation & Assumption of Risk

Pottery is a hands-on activity and may involve some risks of injury or damage to personal property. By participating, you acknowledge these risks and agree to take responsibility for your and/or your child’s safety while enjoying our classes.

Responsibility for Damages

We understand accidents happen, but if your child causes damage to studio equipment or tools (e.g., pottery wheels, brushes, or materials), we kindly ask you to cover the cost of repairs or replacements.

Waiver of Liability

By participating in our classes, you release Atacama Clay Studio, its staff, and instructors from any claims related to injury, accidents, or loss of personal property during activities. You fully accept responsibility for your and/or your child’s actions.

Health & Safety

We prioritize a safe and healthy environment for everyone. While all materials we use are non-toxic, some can be harmful if ingested. Please ensure you and/or your child avoid eating or drinking while working with clay or glazes.

Atacama Clay Studio is not responsible for any lost or stolen items, so please keep personal belongings safe.

Photo & Video Permission

We love showcasing the creativity of our students! By participating, you grant us permission to use photos or videos taken during classes for promotional purposes (e.g., social media). If you have concerns about this, let us know, and we’ll happily accommodate your wishes.

Transportation

You are responsible for arranging transportation for your child to and from the studio. Atacama Clay Studio is not liable for any issues related to transportation or attendance.

Open Studio Time

Open studio time is offered exclusively to students registered for the semester classes and for members. Please review your course description and/or membership status for use of time on the wheel/studio. Pre-registration may apply for wheel use/length of time. Guest are not permitted -Studio time is reserved for students and members only for independent work.

Firing Policy

For all classes except Teen Summer Camps, the firing wait time is approximately 4 weeks from the last class date.  If you have not heard from us after this period, please call to inquire about your work and schedule a pick-up.  Completed pieces will be held for 4 weeks after firing. Unclaimed items will be donated or discarded.

Studio Cleaning & Maintenance Policy

We take pride in maintaining a clean and safe environment for everyone. Our motto is: "Leave No Trace Behind!"

Each class includes a 15-minute clean-up period at the end to ensure the studio is left in excellent condition.
